Dear Friends and Colleagues,
UN Peacekeeping is a partnership - with the member states of the United Nations, in particular, our contributors; with other organizations of the UN common system; with regional and sub-regional organizations; and, above all, with host countries and the people we serve. It is through our collective strength and hard work that, together, we can make a difference to those most in need.
UN Peacekeeping is now being asked to take on new and more complex challenges, to deliver not only new solutions, but also offer greater value for money. This year, with the theme "United Nations Peacekeeping: A Force for Peace. A Force for Change. A Force for the Future", we are working with our partners to focus attention on our efforts to modernize, innovate and enhance the performance of today's operations. Whether it is employing new technologies such as unarmed, unmanned aerial systems, increasing the number of women peacekeepers, or strengthening how we work in regional partnerships, we are finding new ways to equip ourselves to meet the complex challenges before us. We must be creative, nimble and flexible, if we are to succeed in the complicated and dangerous tasks we are being asked to undertake everyday.
Today, as we mark the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers, we pay tribute to the more than 116,000 military, police and civilians serving around the world under the UN flag. We honour the sacred memory of our 106 colleagues who lost their lives in 2013. We mourn the passing of every one of these courageous individuals and take this moment to stand together, as a family, to remember our brothers and sisters who have lost their lives in the cause of peace.
As we remember their sacrifice, we also hail their accomplishments. We thank each and every one of you - wherever you serve - for your contributions to bring stability and peace to some of the most vulnerable people on earth. It is through our perseverance in the cause of peace that we can best honour our colleagues and pay tribute to the memory of those who have fallen. Whether civilian, police or military, it is their--and your--tireless work that makes UN Peacekeeping a force for a better future.
We thank each and every one of you.

Banyak manusia yg lupa akan kemunafikan diri. Kadang akupun melakukan itu. Ingin kuhilangkan ternyata susah. So hal terbaik yg bisa aku lakukan hanyalah 'ga usah ngurusin orang klo kita lom bener'
